The International Legal Congress “Law and Modernization: Experience, Prospects, Trends” with the participation of more than 300 specialists from leading law firms and organizations in Russia and the world was held on December 1 – 2, 2011 at the RIA Novosti International Multimedia Press Center in Moscow.
The congress discussed current legal issues related to the global social, economic and political challenges facing Russia and the world today: the development and management of the legal business, the choice of the optimal model for the professional activities of lawyers, government policy measures to modernize the legal system, aspects of the activities of active players in the legal market.

The speakers of the Congress were: Vyacheslav Lebedev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation; Anton Ivanov, Chairman of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation; Sergey Stepashin, Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation; Evgeny Semenyako, President of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation. Matvey Levant, managing partner of Levant and Partners, also made a presentation.
