The Russian Federation Government decree of March 22, 2016 No. 227 (effective from 1 April 2016) amended the Regulation on patent and other duties for committing legally significant actions connected with the patent for the invention, utility model, industrial design, state registration of trademark and service mark, state registration and granting exclusive rights to appellation of origin of goods, and with the state registration of transition of exclusive rights to other persons and contracts on the order these rights (hereinafter – Regulation).
There is a requirement of levy of duty for the consideration of the petition for familiarization with the documents of the application for invention, utility model, industrial design, trademark, service mark and the making the relevant decision, and for the familiarization the applicant with the requested documents.
The provision will be applied also in connection with the registration of alienation of the exclusive right to result of intellectual activity or means of individualization, the pledge of the exclusive right, granting the right of using such result or such means by contract, the transfer of the exclusive right to such result or such means without a contract.
