The List of States (territories) that Do Not Provide the Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes

Levant & partners law firm informs that by order FTS of Russia from March 4, 2016 (registered in Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation on 22 March 2016) № MMV-7-17/117@ approved the list of States (territories) that do not provide the exchange of information for tax purposes with the Russian Federation.

The list includes 111 countries and 22 territories.

States that do not provide the exchange of information include the Bahamas, Belize, Dominica, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Maldives, Seychelles.

For territories not providing exchange of information, referred British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong (Xianggang), Macau (Macau), Taiwan.

The list was approved under the regulation of controlled foreign companies (CFC). In accordance with the Tax code of the Russian Federation the income of a controlled foreign company may be exempt from tax if the permanent location of such “controlled foreign company” is a state (territory) with which there is an international Treaty of the Russian Federation on tax issues, with the exception of States (territories) specified from the approved list.
