Irina Krassikova, Partner of Levant & Partners law firm, participated in Corporate Governance event “Independent Directors in Government owned Companies: Criteria, Expectations and Risks”

Discussion held on the 24 September 2008 at Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange  was organized by Association of European business and Association of independent directors.

Irina Krassikova, partner of Levant & Partners law firm, mentioned that this event became an important step towards improvement of the system for nomination and choosing independent directors, clarifying nomination criterions, process of drawing up contracts between independent directors and Government owned companies.

“Without reference to ownership it’s clear that activity of independent directors should satisfy needs of company and it’s shareholders by making profit”, said Irina Krassikova. “And worldwide experience shows us that the important conditions of efficient and profitable business are clarity and openness of independent directors’ activity.”
