Yale University student Joel Knopf delivered a presentation on “Evaluating the Worth of Intellectual Property.” He underscored three vital parts of the process – the establishment of exclusive IP rights, competitive analysis of the IP, and freedom-of-action analysis. He focused on how a company can increase income from its IP portfolio. He also explained how a law firm can most effectively evaluate the worth of IP within the tense context of an impending mergers or acquisitions. Joel has been practicing in Levant & partners law firm for 2 months, and according to his words, practical study is a first step towards becoming a professional lawyer specializing in Russian legislation.
