In February 2008, a new specialized legal television channel, “Zakon TV,” began broadcasting in Russia, created by the Russian Lawyers Association, the Gazprom-Media holding, with the support of the Zakon publishing group.
Round-the-clock broadcasting of the TV channel “Zakon TV” is carried out on the basis of “NTV-plus”. Viewers of the channel will be introduced to changes in all areas of legislation.  The channel’s broadcast schedule includes informational, analytical and entertainment programs, united by general legal topics.
Valery Narezhny, managing partner of Levant and Partners, notes that the opening of a specialized legal television channel, Law TV, will help improve the general legal culture of Russians.
“If we talk about the number of viewers, it will be tens of millions of people. To date, the channel’s audience is about 600,000 families, that is, about 1,800,000 viewers. We hope that this will be enough for the start,” notes Dmitry Samokhin, General Director of the NTV-plus television company.
