Dr. Hriday Sarma is a qualified lawyer based in India, specializing in energy law, cybercrime, and digital governance. He holds a PhD in International Energy Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, along with advanced certifications in cybersecurity and digital law from Google, Lund University, and Queen Mary University of London.

He has been actively engaged in cross-border business facilitation and start-up advisory for BRICS countries, including Russia. Notably, he played a leading role in the BRICS Plus Africa initiative (2023), which connected Russian and Global South stakeholders across business, policy, and academia, strengthening cooperation under the BRICS framework. Alongside his legal practice, Dr. Sarma has served as a Visiting Fellow at leading think tanks such as INSS (Israel), IDSA (India), and CAERC (Azerbaijan), and currently serves as a Senior Fellow at the South Asia Democratic Forum (Brussels).
