Since June 2008, students from the UK and USA specializing in Russian law have been undergoing internships at the law firm Levant and Partners. In their opinion, an internship in a Russian law firm is a unique opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and professional experience in the field of Russian legislation. The experience gained working in a Russian firm helps future foreign lawyers navigate all the intricacies of Russian legislation. An internship at the law firm Levant and Partners also provided foreign young professionals with an opportunity to become familiar with the principles of work of Russian lawyers.
At the end of the internship, each intern prepares a presentation on legal topics. On June 30, a presentation prepared by intern Kaval Wadhwa, a 3rd year student at Brunel University in England, was demonstrated. Kaval specializes in corporate and commercial law. The presentation was devoted to the main aspects of founding a law firm in England.
“The internship at a Russian company provided me with a real opportunity, and I did my best to take advantage of this chance,” says Kaval.
“Thanks to an internship, students often choose exactly the area of ​​activity that is of particular interest to them, which is the basis for a future career,” comments the managing partner of the company, Matvey Levant.
Attracting foreign young professionals as interns became possible thanks to partnerships with foreign law firms and membership in international legal associations (Advoc, AIPPI, INTA, etc.). Interaction with foreign associations and organizations reflects the main operating principle of Levant and Partners – “one stop shop” (providing qualified advice on the law of any country in the world).
