On September 15, 2011, the law firm “Levant and Partners” held a seminar on the topic “Management and protection of intellectual property.” The seminar’s issues attracted the attention of experts specializing in intellectual property protection, legal experts, as well as interested guests. The presentations were made by Matvey Levant, Managing Partner, Larisa Yatrova, Head of the Department for the Protection of Intellectual Property, Evgeniy Moskalev, Deputy Head of the Department for the Protection of Intellectual Property, and Alexander Shugaev, Senior Lawyer. Of particular interest to the seminar participants was the discussion of the procedure for filing an international patent application, as well as the commercialization of intellectual property. In light of the latest negotiations on Russia’s accession to the WTO by the end of this year, activities in the field of innovation, patenting inventions, and, most importantly, commercialization of the results of intellectual activity are acquiring particular importance. In this regard, Managing Partner Matvey Levant noted the particular importance of building an effective system for managing and protecting intellectual property.
