Irina Krasikova, partner of the law firm Levant and Partners: “During the period of layoffs, inattention to labor legislation is fraught with significant legal costs for the employer”

Irina Krasikova, partner at the law firm Levant and Partners, took part in the seminar “Modern Economic Crisis: How to Survive an Enterprise,” during which the development of a company strategy during a crisis was discussed.
The seminar, held on December 18 at the Ararat Park Hyatt Hotel, was conducted by World Bank expert Vladimir Savchuk. The purpose of the event was to provide top management of participating companies with recommendations on changing the company’s financial and marketing policies in the current conditions. The possibilities of cost optimization and the role of staff motivation were discussed in detail.
“Motivation becomes an extremely difficult issue during a crisis,” says Irina Krasikova. — After all, the employer needs to reduce expenses, in which wages are one of the main items. The working group of Levant and Partners, formed to provide legal support to clients’ anti-crisis procedures, recently analyzed the labor law practice obtained over the past two months. The analysis clearly shows that during a period of significant layoffs, inattention to labor legislation is fraught with claims and significant legal costs. Under these conditions, following the law will not only be fair, but also beneficial for all parties.”
