Irina Krasikova, partner at Levant and Partners, took part in the round table on the topic “Independent directors in state-owned companies: criteria, expectations, risks”

The round table, held on September 24 at the MICEX office, was organized by the Association of European Businesses and the Association of Independent Directors.

Irina Krasikova noted that this event made a significant contribution to the development of the institute of independent directors in Russia. Thus, at the meeting with the participation of representatives of the largest companies, selection criteria, legal establishment of rights and obligations, and principles of remuneration for independent directors of state-owned companies were discussed.

“Regardless of the form of ownership, the work of independent directors must meet the needs of the company and shareholders, ensuring the company’s profitable operation,” comments Irina Krasikova. “And existing international experience demonstrates that for the effective operation of a company, the most important condition is transparency and openness of the procedures for the election and activities of independent directors.”
