Fees in the field of patenting and trademark registration have changed

Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated March 22, 2016 No. 227 (comes into force on April 1, 2016) amended the Regulations on patent and other duties for carrying out legally significant actions related to a patent for an invention, utility model, industrial design, with state registration of a trademark and service mark, with state registration and granting an exclusive right to the name of the place of origin of a product, as well as state registration of the transfer of exclusive rights to other persons and agreements on the disposal of these rights (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations).

It is envisaged to collect a fee for considering a request to familiarize yourself with the documents of an application for an invention, utility model, industrial design, trademark, service mark and making an appropriate decision, familiarizing the applicant with the requested documents.

The provision will also apply in connection with the registration of the alienation of the exclusive right to a result of intellectual activity or a means of individualization, the pledge of an exclusive right, the granting of the right to use such a result or such a means under an agreement, the transfer of the exclusive right to such a result or such a means without an agreement.
